Hayat Foundation in Hurst, Texas, is an nonspecific charity and medical nonprofit founded by Safia Barre after she visited Somalia and saw the deplorable conditions many people are forced to live in. What saddened her the most was a young man suffering from mental illness who was locked away in a cage. She asked people why they didn't properly treat him. Their response was that they didn't have the medication to do so.
Safia also encountered many situations where women had complications with childbirth, in addition to an array of diseases left untreated due to the lack of medical equipment and supplies. These people needed help, so our founder decided to make it her mission in life to improve their living conditions and health care. There are many who suffer daily, and our organization appreciated every donation and volunteer who contributes to making a difference.
"For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.."
